The Office of the Registrar is the final authority for all matters pertaining to transfer credit. Individuals seeking transfer credit should refer to the appropriate sections listed below.  To receive credit, official transcripts must be submitted to: Office of the Registrar, 27 Memorial Drive West, Suite 011, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Students can see awarded transfer credit by viewing their unofficial transcript online through Banner.

Current Undergraduate Students

Current students seeking transfer credit must complete the Undergraduate Student Approval of Transfer Credit form prior to taking a course at another institution. This form must be approved by the related academic department at Lehigh prior to submission to the Registrar's Office. Although the department may approve the course equivalency, The Registrar's Office is responsible for determining eligibility in accordance with policies outlined on the form and in the University Catalog.

Full-time students are not permitted to be concurrently enrolled at Lehigh University and another institution without prior approval from the Standing of Students Committee. Students studying abroad must follow the procedures specified by the Study Abroad Office.

Graduate Students

Current and incoming graduate students seeking transfer credit must complete the Graduate Course Credit Transfer Petition and obtain approval from the advisor, Department Chair, and Associate Dean prior to submitting the paperwork to The Registrar's Office. Graduate students should carefully review the policies listed on the front and back of the petition form prior to requesting transfer credit.

Incoming First-Year Students

Incoming first-year students who completed college coursework prior to enrolling at Lehigh must send an official transcript and course syllabi to The Office of the Registrar for evaluation. Credit for courses completed through high school dual enrollment programs will be awarded only if a course is regularly offered by an accredited two-year or four-year college or university and a majority of the students in the course were candidates for a degree at that college or university. Eligible coursework must also meet the transfer credit policies noted in the University catalog.

Transfer Students

Official transcripts and course descriptions/syllabi must be submitted to the Admissions Office to begin the transfer credit evaluation process. All descriptions/syllabi will be referred to the appropriate academic department at Lehigh for review. Students who have not submitted a deposit to Lehigh can check on the status of transfer credit by contacting the Admissions Office. Students who have deposited and will be attending Lehigh can view awarded transfer credit by reviewing an unofficial transcript through Banner. For more information, refer to the Admissions Transfer Student Website.
